GainFPS: Powering Competitive Gaming Performance with OVHcloud
OVHcloud and GainFPS
15% infrastructure cost reduction
1, 500 + remote optimizations delivered
40,000+ social media followers and a growing community
The context
From a passion for esports to a scalable performance ecosystem
GainFPS was founded by Artur Mendela, a Master’s graduate in computer science and passionate esports enthusiast, with one clear mission: to help gamers unlock the full potential of their hardware and maximize their gaming experience.
What started in Poland in 2019 as personal PC optimization experiments for himself and his friends quickly evolved into a structured service. Realizing this niche existed to help others improve their gaming performance, Artur began developing custom scripts and automation tools to optimize systems at scale.
In October 2023, GainFPS became an official company.
Today, the business delivers:
- Remote optimization for gaming PCs
- Custom-built performance-focused gaming computers
- GainFPS Gaming Mode — a real-time optimization application
- Game servers, TeamSpeak servers, and tournament infrastructure
With nearly 40,000 followers across social media and millions of monthly video views, GainFPS has already delivered thousands of remote optimizations, primarily in Poland, with international expansion next on the horizon.
“My goal was to combine my passion for gaming with my technical background to build solutions that truly improve competitive performance.”
— Artur Mendela, Founder of GainFPS
The challenge
Scaling performance without compromising stability
As GainFPS grew, so did its infrastructure demands.
GainFPS needed an infrastructure capable of supporting thousands of website and application users, with real-time backend communication for Gaming Mode, secure data storage, strong Anti-DDoS protection, and consistently low latency.
However, their previous setup created serious limitations: website slowdowns during traffic peaks, delayed API responses, exposure to DDoS attacks, and high, unpredictable maintenance costs.
For a company built around performance and stability, these were critical issues.
“We couldn’t promise ultra-smooth performance for our users if our own infrastructure wasn’t stable.”
— Artur Mendela, Founder of GainFPS
GainFPS required a highly reliable infrastructure to guarantee the seamless experience it promises to competitive gamers.
The solution
A hybrid architecture built on OVHcloud
In 2023, GainFPS migrated its infrastructure to OVHcloud to build a scalable and resilient ecosystem.
Core infrastructure: VPS for web and application layer
GainFPS runs its main production environment on redundant OVHcloud VPS instances.
These power the entire platform, including GainFPS.com (frontend, backend, and database), the Gaming Mode backend, as well as API, authentication, and user management systems such as the booking platform and automated email and SMS communications.
The VPS environment provides:
- Scalability for traffic growth and increasing user demand
- Fast and reliable database access
- High availability through a redundant architecture
- Secure storage for user and application data
Performance layer: Bare Metal GAME servers
To support latency-sensitive services such as game servers and TeamSpeak, GainFPS uses OVHcloud Bare Metal GAME servers (Ryzen).
These servers are designed to deliver high and stable FPS with low-latency performance, while also enabling the testing of unoptimized game engines and supporting the future migration of voice services.
This hybrid setup allows GainFPS to separate performance-critical workloads from the web application layer while maintaining full control of its ecosystem.

Why OVHcloud?
OVHcloud was the right fit because it addressed the core issues blocking GainFPS growth:
- Built-in Anti-DDoS protection stabilized both website and application availability
- Predictable and transparent pricing reduced infrastructure costs by approximately 15%
- Reliable VPS performance eliminated API latency during traffic peaks
- Direct and responsive communication simplified architectural decisions
For a performance-focused gaming company, infrastructure stability directly impacts brand credibility. OVHcloud enabled GainFPS to align its backend reliability with its performance promise.
“OVHcloud gives us the stability, security and scalability we need to grow GainFPS and deliver a smooth, lag-free experience to our players.”
— Artur Mendela, Founder of GainFPS
The result
Stability, cost optimization and scalable growth
Since migrating to OVHcloud, GainFPS has achieved measurable improvements:
- 15% reduction in infrastructure costs
- Stabilized backend performance and improved database and API responsiveness
- Enhanced protection against DDoS attacks and increased confidence to scale internationally
The infrastructure is now capable of supporting thousands of concurrent users while maintaining smooth application performance.
Real-world testing on the new GAME-1 infrastructure
In real-world conditions, GainFPS is currently using the OVHcloud GAME-1 server to host two TeamSpeak communities and a Hurtworld game server for partners. These environments are being used to test voice stability, network performance, and protection under real gaming workloads.
Previously, these communities experienced packet loss and instability with their former hosting provider. After migrating to the new OVHcloud infrastructure, GainFPS reports significantly improved voice stability for TeamSpeak users and a noticeably smoother gameplay experience for Hurtworld players.
This real-world testing confirms the reliability and performance of the new infrastructure.
The transition to OVHcloud eliminated the bottlenecks that previously limited growth. Infrastructure is no longer a constraint — it is now an enabler of expansion.
“Thanks to OVHcloud, we can focus on optimizing gaming performance for our clients instead of worrying about backend stability.”
— Artur Mendela, Founder of GainFPS
What’s next?
Following the successful launch of its new website, GainFPS is now preparing for international expansion. The team plans to further expand Gaming Mode functionality and migrate additional services to Bare Metal infrastructure as it scales beyond Poland.
With a scalable hybrid cloud architecture in place, GainFPS is now positioned to support competitive gamers worldwide — with even better performance.
