Who can register a .SWISS?
The registration of a .swiss domain name is reserved for public sector bodies or other Swiss organisations under public law and for corporations or moral persons registered in the Swiss Commercial Register who have their registered office and a genuine administrative site in Switzerland.
The registry will then publish the registration request for 20 days. The registrar will assess the information provided, plus any objections that are lodged during the publication period and any competing registration requests. This period will be extended if a formal objection is lodged with the registry during the publication period or if it is necessary to decide between competing requests.
Domain name names may only be allocated to the following registration categories:
1. A public body or organisation (based on the quality of the applicant)
2. Holder of a trademark right (bid)
3. A not-for-profit association or foundation (application date)
