Executive summary
Since 2010, the Polish fashion brand La Mania has been setting trends with stylish clothing that combines elegance with a modern twist. It has become a symbol of luxury in Polish fashion and its reputation extends internationally. Expanding beyond its classic fashion line, the brand now offers interior designs under the La Mania Home label. The rapid expansion of online channels pushed La Mania to modernise its aging IT infrastructure. Deploying OVHcloud’s solutions has enabled the brand to access a highly available, high-performing, and scalable bare-metal (HA) infrastructure, while significantly reducing operating costs.
The challenge
To meet the exponentially growing demands of e-commerce since the pandemic, La Mania had to upgrade its infrastructure to manage heavier website traffic and maintain operational stability during peak seasonal sales, which could be four to five times higher than the daily average. Its previous solution, based on a single VPS from another provider, proved inadequate due to limited scalability and high hardware scaling costs. The brand focused on optimising its infrastructure for faster processing and reduced latency, to improve the customer experience in Poland. https://lamania.eu/
The solution
Partnering with OVHcloud, La Mania deployed two powerful bare-metal servers configured for high availability. This approach provided reliable data replication, maintaining stability under heavy website traffic and server failures. Dedicated servers allowed for better adjustment of configurations, such as NVMe disks or high performance processors, necessary for running Magento, a resource-intensive e-commerce software. The partnership’s success also hinged on the servers being located in OVHcloud’s datacentre in Poland, keeping latency to a minimum.
The result
The upgraded infrastructure kept the platform running smoothly throughout the peak season, from Black Friday through the end-of-season sales—crucial for the fashion industry’s reliance on stable, speedy customer service. Switching to powerful bare-metal servers has lowered the brand’s operating costs, compared to its previous, more expensive VPS solution. At the same time, technical resources—faster NVMe drives and modern processors—were optimised to efficiently support e-commerce software. In addition, OVHcloud’s datacentre location in Poland reduces latency, resulting in a smoother user experience.
“One of the key reasons we chose OVHcloud was its great value for money. The provider’s flexibility enables La Mania to adapt its infrastructure to changing needs. OVHcloud efficiently resolved the expected technical issues arising from the deployment phase. A major plus is the support team’s incredibly fast response times and their round-the-clock availability.” Michał Kloczkowski, CEO and CTO of ecom.house, the company responsible for deploying OVHcloud infrastructure at La Mania.
