The background

Wide Angle Analytics, developed by Input Objects GmbH, is a GDPR-compliant web analysis platform for digital marketing managers. What sets this solution apart is that website visitors don’t have to consent to cookies, as data is not stored on the device. Personal data is anonymised via an ID and encrypted in a way that it cannot be linked back to the user. All the marketing-relevant information of visitors (users, conversion rate, etc.) can still be tracked, but without compromising user experience with annoying consent forms and pop-ups. To provide this service, Input Objects GmbH relies on OVHcloud infrastructure, including public cloud instances, Managed Kubernetes Service, dedicated servers, and web hosting.

The challenge

Before introducing Wide Angle Analytics, the Input Objects GmbH team worked with AWS on consulting projects. However, this quickly presented challenges: The pricing of cloud services lacked transparency and often led to unnecessary expenses. In addition, unclear legal information on data protection frequently raised concerns.

Input Objects GmbH were aiming to build the Wide Angle Analytics platform using an infrastructure that ensured data sovereignty within the EU, and reduced DevOps efforts by leveraging reliable managed services. They also wanted a solution that paired high performance with cost efficiency and came with built-in security features like DDoS protection.

The solution

In 2021, Input Objects GmbH joined the OVHcloud Startup Program which enabled Wide Angle Analytics to receive financial support from OVHcloud through cloud credits for services and hardware. This provided a key advantage during the early development phase. Engaging closely with OVHcloud partner managers and taking part in networking events also added significant value.

At the core of Wide Angle Analytics’ IT setup is OVHcloud Managed Kubernetes Service, which allows for quick, hassle-free deployment without extensive DevOps overhead costs. Other OVHcloud services include public cloud instances for compute and storage, dedicated servers for performance-intensive tasks, and web hosting for digital presence.

The result

Powered by a scalable cloud infrastructure, the Wide Angle Analytics platform runs reliably and efficiently, with a total downtime of under one hour since it started operating three years ago. The system processes up to 20 million tracking events per customer each month, without requiring any customer-specific infrastructure. New features can be deployed in minutes instead of days. OVHcloud’s transparent pricing and Saving Plans help keep operating costs low while maintaining high performance.

"My most positive experience with OVHcloud is that we hardly have to think about it. It’s just there—and it works. Compared to AWS, there are no infrastructure issues and no unnecessary complexity. We can just build our product."

Jaroslaw Rozanski, Managing Director at Input Objects GmbH

OVHcloud services provide the foundation for Wide Angle Analytics to sustain growth into the future. Additionally, participation in the Open Trusted Cloud ecosystem and OVHcloud Partner Program supports the company's mission to provide secure, legally compliant, and transparent solutions for European businesses.
