To ensure sovereign data hosting, effective cost management, and straightforward infrastructure administration, Proliance chose OVHcloud Public Cloud services and AI Endpoints.
The challenge
Wanted: A high-performance European alternative to US hyperscalers for automated, cloud-based compliance management
ISO 27001, NIS2, GDPR: A wide range of standards and regulations governs data and information security in Germany and across Europe. Compliance with these regulations is business-critical for companies that want to build customer trust, stay competitive, and improve their internal processes. However, the certifications involved often require considerable effort, and the preparation phase can easily take several months or even a full year. This is where Proliance comes in. The Munich-based company offers data protection and compliance management through an automated cloud platform designed to help SMBs get certified quickly and easily using a 360-degree approach. Proliance 360 provides a comprehensive set of modules, including asset management, action tracking, risk management, centralized documentation, and an integrated whistleblowing system.
To power the platform’s underlying digital infrastructure, Proliance initially opted for the public cloud services of a US hyperscaler. However, it quickly became clear that the provider’s high prices could jeopardize the company’s business model and profitability in the long run. As an information security provider, Proliance also found it increasingly important to ensure data-sovereign hosting in Europe for its customers, which was difficult to achieve with its previous provider. On top of that, running and managing the existing environment had proven to be highly complex. The new solution therefore needed to offer more than just cost-efficient services: above all, it had to guarantee European data hosting and simple cloud management.
The solution
Found: European public cloud infrastructure that combines sovereignty with cost efficiency
OVHcloud, the leading European cloud provider, won Proliance over. With data centers in Germany and a consistent focus on digital sovereignty across all dimensions (legal, technological, and operational), OVHcloud meets every data sovereignty requirement. All data used on the platform is stored and processed in OVHcloud’s German data centers in Limburg (near Frankfurt).
The Proliance 360 infrastructure is distributed across two separate Managed Kubernetes clusters, which keep operations as easy to manage as possible. One cluster hosts the production environment, which runs the live platform via a website. The other hosts the test and staging environment, where updates, new features, and bug fixes can be tested. Both clusters are connected to a PostgreSQL database.
With OVHcloud AI Endpoints, AI models are integrated natively into the Proliance 360 platform, without data being passed on to third parties. The AI features support the structured capture of assets and processing activities by automatically identifying and pre-filling relevant information. Created documentation, such as records of processing activities or risk analyses, is automatically evaluated and checked for completeness and compliance.

Cloud services are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. Since July 1st, 2026, OVHcloud has offered per-second billing, so Proliance only pays for the traffic actually incurred and benefits from greater transparency and cost control.
The result
With OVHcloud, Proliance blends European data sovereignty with economic efficiency and operational simplicity: the exact synergy needed to drive the sustainable growth of its compliance management offering. Thanks to OVHcloud’s efficient Public Cloud infrastructure and AI Endpoints, Proliance can deliver on its promise to customers, “Document once, reuse many times”, and position itself as a trusted partner for information security.
Beyond reviewing documentation and records, the sovereign AI features also let customers automatically import and categorize data and check data processing agreements (DPAs) against data protection requirements. Proliance 360 users benefit from a workflow built directly into the platform that helps them implement compliance efficiently and in a legally sound way, without depending on non-European AI providers.
At the same time, the platform’s simple, stable operation delivers substantial resource savings, particularly through significantly lower infrastructure costs.
“By switching to OVHcloud, we cut our infrastructure costs by around 60% while significantly reducing our operational workload, with a setup that is noticeably easier to manage than our previous one on AWS. As a provider of data protection and information security, what matters most to us is being able to operate with full data sovereignty thanks to a European cloud provider.”
Alexander Ingelheim, CEO and Co-Founder of Proliance GmbH
Going forward, Proliance plans to expand its existing AI endpoints and migrate them to OVHcloud as well. All remaining services will also be gradually moved to OVHcloud servers and progressively transitioned to Kubernetes.
