One bucket. Multiple classes. Deploy wherever you want.
All your data is stored with an industrial-level durability of 99.99999999999% (11 nines), guaranteeing long-term preservation regardless of the storage class used. The level of availability depends on the deployment mode chosen: 99.9% service level agreement (SLA) in 1-AZ and Local Zones, 99.99% SLA in our 3-AZ regions.

Multi-Zone
The 3-AZ regions are based on three independent availability zones, each with an isolated power supply, cooling system, and network. This architecture allows for true fault isolation and ensures service continuity even in the event that one of the zones becomes completely unavailable.

High Performance
Maximum speed. Zero compromise.
The High Performance class is designed for workloads requiring high performance and low latency. Available only in our 1-AZ regions, it is based on SSD technology and offers fast and predictable access to data for critical applications.
Whether you are running latency-sensitive applications, real-time analytics, or high-throughput workloads, the High Performance class delivers maximum performance while still falling under OVHcloud’s simple and transparent pricing model.
Use cases
Analytics and data processing pipelines
Data pipelines and analytical workloads often require fast access to large datasets for real-time processing. High Performance Object Storage guarantees ultra-fast read/write operations for training machine learning models, batch processing, or real-time analytics.
This storage class is ideal for organisations that need to process data frequently and efficiently.
Latency-sensitive applications and transactional workloads
Organisations running latency-sensitive applications or high transaction volume workloads need storage that can respond instantly. OVHcloud High Performance, available in 1-AZ deployment on SSD, offers low-latency and high-throughput access for applications such as financial transactions, e-commerce platforms, or high-speed APIs.
This class is ideal for workloads where every millisecond counts, ensuring fast and predictable performance at a transparent cost.
Content delivery and frequently accessed assets
High-traffic applications – such as media streaming, SaaS platforms, or content delivery systems – require frequent access to data with minimal latency. High Performance, in 1-AZ mode on SSD, allows for quick access to these resources, enhancing user experience and application responsiveness.
This class is ideal for performance-critical workloads, where speed is paramount.

Infrequent Access
Fewer accesses, lower costs.
The Infrequent Access class is designed for data that is only occasionally accessed but must still be quickly accessible. It offers reduced storage costs while allowing reliable access when needed.
Whether you are storing periodic backups, historical datasets, or long-lived data with intermittent use, the Infrequent Access class helps you reduce costs while enjoying simple and transparent pricing.
Use cases
Periodic backups and restore data
Many organisations generate regular backups and keep them for operational or compliance reasons, but these are rarely accessed. The Infrequent Access class is ideal for storing these backups at a lower cost while ensuring that the data remains quickly accessible in the event that it needs to be restored.
This approach allows for reduced storage costs without compromising on reliability. This makes it a perfect solution for backup retention, restoration tests, and operational continuity needs.
Retention of historical and business data
Companies often retain significant volumes of historical data, such as logs, reports, or transactional data, which are only consulted occasionally but must remain accessible. OVHcloud Infrequent Access class offers a cost-effective storage solution for this data, combining lower costs with on-demand access.
This approach allows organisations to optimise their long-term storage expenses while retaining access to valuable data for audits, analysis, or business decisions.

The Active Archive class is designed for long-term data storage while ensuring immediate access when necessary. It is optimised for infrequently accessed data that must remain instantly available at all times.
Whether it’s for regulatory data, business archives, or logs for compliance and audit needs, the Active Archive class combines optimised storage costs with simple and transparent pricing.
Use cases
Data analytics
Research organisations generate, analyse and archive massive volumes of data, ranging from genomics and scientific simulations to datasets used for training machine learning models. Although this information is rarely accessed, it must remain immediately available when needed.
Active Archive offers an affordable solution for long-term data preservation with instant access, without the need to manage complex on-premises infrastructure or to over-provision storage capacity. Organisations benefit from durable, scalable, and predictably-priced storage, allowing them to quickly access archived datasets whenever research or analysis requires it.
Healthcare data archiving
Healthcare facilities and hospital systems must retain petabytes of patient data for several decades to meet regulatory and medical requirements. While most of this data is rarely accessed, certain datasets, such as medical imaging or genomics, must remain immediately accessible.

Cold Archive
Archive for years to come. Pay the minimum.
The Cold Archive class is designed for very long-term data preservation at the lowest possible cost. It is optimised for data that is rarely, if ever, accessed, and is only restored when needed.
Whether preserving historical archives, meeting long-term legal retention obligations, or creating disaster recovery archives, the Cold Archive class allows for highly cost-effective storage, with simple and transparent pricing.
Use cases
Regulatory archiving, compliance, and internal policies
Many organisations operating in regulated sectors, such as financial services, healthcare, or the public sector, must retain regulatory and compliance data over long periods of time. Object Storage, combined with the Object Lock feature, lets you apply immutability and retention policies to meet regulatory and governance requirements.
Whether these regulations are imposed by compliance frameworks or internal policies, data such as financial statements, tax documents, HR records, or email archives can be securely stored for several years, or even indefinitely, thanks to OVHcloud’s storage classes. This approach ensures long-term data integrity, while providing you with complete control over data residency, access, and costs.
Long-term backup retention
As part of their long-term backup strategies, organisations often retain large volumes of data for many years on expensive on-premises systems. Cold Archive offers a cost-effective alternative for long-term backup retention, significantly reducing costs while ensuring data durability.
Backup data is stored securely and can be restored at any time for disaster recovery, auditing, or historical restoration needs. It comes with predictable pricing and total control over data localisation.
Large-scale media archives
Media assets and audiovisual content, such as video files, rushes, or journalistic archives, require maximum durability and can reach petabyte levels of volume over time. Although only a portion of this content is actively used, a large majority must be retained for future reuse, compliance requirements, or for its historical significance.
Cold Archive allows organisations to store large media archives at the lowest possible storage cost, ideal for content that does not require immediate access. Data is securely preserved for the long term and can be restored when necessary for reprocessing, remastering, or historical access. Pricing remains predictable, and you get full control over the location of your data.
