Why does OVHcloud have multiple service universes?

OVHcloud has evolved alongside its customers since its founding in 1999. To meet a wide range of needs, we’ve structured our services into distinct universes—each tailored to specific use cases:

Web Cloud: Domain names, shared hosting, and web-related cloud services
Bare Metal Cloud: Dedicated servers and VPS for maximum performance and control
Hosted Private Cloud: Enterprise-grade platforms such as VMware and Nutanix, fully managed by OVHcloud
Public Cloud: Scalable IaaS and PaaS solutions for developers and businesses building modern applications
