Why choose an Intel VPS?

Thanks to an Intel Xeon architecture, our VPS solutions offer stable performance and low latency, even under high loads. Their isolated environment, based on allocated resources (vCPU, RAM, storage), is perfectly adapted to the most complex or resource-intensive applications. They are also compatible with most systems and software, for simple deployment and an effective management of your services.

The key advantages of Intel VPS

Our Intel VPS solutions are based on servers that are highly optimised for virtualisation, ensuring performance, stability and compatibility:

  • Stable CPU performance: Each VPS has virtual cores allocated to Intel Xeon servers designed for virtualisation, so that your applications can run smoothly.

  • Increased hardware reliability: ECC memory and high-end hardware components reduce errors while increasing service availability.

  • Extended software compatibility: The environment is compatible with most Linux and Windows distributions, so you can deploy your tools without any technical constraints.

  • Built-in security: The continuity of your services are ensured thanks to the infrastructure’s native network protections and regular updates.

These advantages make Intel VPSs a solid foundation for your resource-intensive environments.

Your questions answered

What is a VPS?

A virtual private server (VPS) offers the possibility of hosting different types of website (e-commerce, content, visual media) and software applications (portals, extranets, collaborative solutions, wikis, CRM). Unlike shared hosting, data is hosted in isolation on a virtual machine specifically dedicated to the user.

Optimally positioned between a standard web hosting plan and a physical server, our VPS solutions combine the reliability and performance of a dedicated server, while eliminating the need to manage hardware constraints.

How do I choose between VPS on Intel and VPS on AMD Epyc?

The main difference lies in the hardware of the hosts from which the VPS are virtualised. Our new VPS solutions are virtualised on machines equipped with an Intel processor. They have been designed to be more flexible, as more configurations are available for purchase. Once purchased, you can also customise their memory and storage. Apart from that, the features and options available on our VPS solutions are the same.*

If you would like to scale up with your VPS and get the most out of your customisation, opt for our Intel VPS solutions, which offer more configuration flexibility.

If you want a VPS for a short-term need with the best price/performance ratio, then a VPS on AMD Epyc is the right solution for you.

* Except for the Starter offer, where some options such as automatic backup and resource augmentation are not available.

Can I switch from a VPS on Intel to a VPS on AMD Epyc?

Unfortunately, this is not possible due to hardware management constraints. Migrations are only allowed within the same range of offers. Therefore, if you choose an AMD EPYC VPS solution, you will not be able to migrate to Intel VPS solutions, or vice versa.

What are the special features of the Starter solution?

The Starter VPS you have chosen was designed to help you discover and start your project at a very low price, with basic features.

The automatic backup option and the options to increase your RAM or storage in one click are only available with a Value plan or higher.

With the Starter offer, you can only use SATA HDD storage. NVMe SSD storage is available with the Value solution and is designed to speed up access to content, while offering better read/write capacity on disk.

Which type of hosting should I choose - web hosting, dedicated server or VPS?

Choosing between a web hosting plan, a dedicated server and a VPS depends on several factors such as your specific needs, the size of your project and your desired level of control over the hosting environment.

  • If you manage a personal or business website with limited resource requirements, a shared web hosting plan can be a cost-effective option.
  • For larger projects that require greater power and exclusive control over resources, a dedicated server may be the answer. However, this also requires technical skills for more in-depth management.
  • Virtual private servers (VPS) offer a happy medium between shared web hosting and a dedicated server. They provide a dedicated portion of resources on a physical server, offering increased flexibility while avoiding the complexity of managing a dedicated server.

In short, choose the option that best suits your needs in terms of project size, required performance, and your desired level of control.

What is the difference between an Intel VPS and an AMD VPS?

An Intel VPS is characterised by its single-threaded performance, high frequency, and reliability, making it ideal for latency-sensitive applications like dynamic websites or game servers. An , based on EPYC processors, is designed to maximise parallelism and is better suited to environments with several VMs, containers or distributed databases. Both ranges benefit from the same OVHcloud services, such as 1-click scalability, automatic backup, and network protection.

What is the difference between an Intel VPS and an Intel dedicated server?

An Intel VPS is based on a virtualised environment, with vCores allocated and a shared but isolated infrastructure. It is a flexible, scalable and cost-effective solution, adapted to a wide range of needs. An gives you unlimited access to all hardware resources on the machine, without any sharing. It provides maximum performance and full control, but requires more advanced management.
