In-house VMware management: a growing technical and financial burden
Unpredictable costs
VMware licence, hardware maintenance and renewal, and electricity consumption all contribute to your infrastructure costs climbing 15 to 25% yearly, even as your IT budget stays flat.
Overworked teams
Your teams spend 42% of their time on infrastructure maintenance, which prevents them from focusing on value creation. Moreover, daily IT tasks (patches, updates, overnight incidents) tend to slow down innovation.
Limited scalability
Provisioning new resources can take weeks, making it difficult to respond quickly to business needs or adapt to seasonal peak loads.

What our customers say about us
VOXY
Despite a price surge of over 40%, VOXY updated its infrastructure, maintaining both performance and sovereignty.
“Even though the project was technically sound, it was impacted by the sudden rise in VMware licensing costs. Maintaining service levels without spending significantly more was inevitable. We had to quickly redesign the architecture to find a viable alternative, without straying from the original requirements.”
Emmanuel Andreu, CEO, VOXY
ID INTERACTIVE
To address a drop in performance linked to the increase in virtual machines, ID Interactive migrated 300 websites to Public VCF as-a-Service
“For our clients, the migration to Public VCF as-a-Service was seamless – with no disruption – as everything remained online and operational. We received excellent support from the OVHcloud team, from preparation to follow-up after the migration.”
Dylan Lemonnier, System Administrator, ID Interactive

Your questions answered
What is Public VCF as-a-Service?
Public VCF as-a-Service is a fully managed solution that provides a shared infrastructure in the public cloud, built on VMware Cloud Director (VCD) included in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
What is the difference between Public VCF as-a-Service and Managed VMware vSphere?
The main difference is that Public VCF as-a-Service abstracts network complexity while delivering storage and high availability. Users can directly access services, without the need for intricate configurations. Moreover, the solution is based on a cheaper shared infrastructure for smaller infrastructures.

What is the difference between VMware Cloud Director (VCD) and vCloud Director (vCD)?
VMware Cloud Director (VCD) and vCloud Director (vCD) are actually the same product, just with different names. It was called vCloud Director when it first launched in 2010, but became VMware Cloud Director with the release of version 10.1 in April 2020. This change aimed to better reflect the product’s integration into the VMware Cloud ecosystem, particularly within the VMware Cloud Provider program. It offers the same features as before, including multitenant cloud management, automation, integration with vSphere and NSX, etc. Basically, VCD is simply the rebranded vCD, with no differences in features or functionality.
How does it differ from the Public Cloud?
Public VCF as-a-Service is based on the proprietary VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) stack, known for its security and performance. It provides you with a pool of resources for deploying VMs to ensure high availability. Public Cloud is less specialised, but offers a whole ecosystem of managed cloud services, such as instances per unit (VM).
What is the technical architecture like?
