100 companies were selected to pioneer .paris before its general release, including RATP, Aéroports de Paris (Paris Airports), the Eiffel Tower and Citroën DS.
These 100 ambassadors unveiled their websites with the new extension on June 4 2014. To celebrate the release of .paris, several of the Paris landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, were lit up with the extension in the evening.
To order a .paris domain name, you must fulfil one of the following conditions:
- You live in the Paris region.
- You carry out a professional, commercial, cultural or personal activity related to the Paris region.
- You can justify any other direct or indirect attachment with the Paris region.
