Domain names .film

Any natural or legal person may register a .film domain name if he or she meets at least one of the following criteria:

1. Member of the film industry
The applicant must be associated with the film industry. They may be a natural person or legal person who fits into one of the following two criteria:

• The applicant is actively involved in the film industry (e.g. producers, distributors, sales agents, studios, directors, writers, photographers, technicians, actors, press, film festivals, associations); or
• The applicant provides products or services to the film industry (e.g. lawyers, agents, PR and marketing firms, financiers, designers, equipment suppliers, domain registrars, IT and hosting providers).

• Connection between the applicant and the registered domain name

The applicant's domain name must be closely connected to their activity in the film industry.

For example:

• The domain name must be the applicant’s organisation or personal name; a good or service that the applicant provides; an event that the applicant organises...
• Where the domain name being applied for matches a film title exactly, then the applicant must be the rights holder of the applied for film title.
