Our experts have worked closely with various hardware manufacturers to select cutting-edge components for our Infrastructure range of dedicated servers. All of the storage resources are specially designed for intensive usage in datacentres. This way, you get the very latest technology, and maximum reliability for critical usage.
High-bandwidth public and private networks
The models from the Infrastructure range offer high-bandwidth network connectivity, and unlimited traffic. Deploy a server in one of our 32 datacentres across the globe, and you will have access to a 22 Tbit/s backbone for transferring your data. If your needs increase, you can also subscribe to additional public or private bandwidth as an option. Since OVHcloud manages its own fibre-optic network and PoPs (points of presence), you will get optimal connectivity.
OVHcloud Link Aggregation
The OVHcloud Link Aggregation feature maximises the availability of your dedicated servers. You can enable it via the OVHcloud Control Panel to group your network links (public and private). This ensures service continuity, and a very high-bandwidth private network for your most critical applications and distributed systems.
IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
Each server has a public IPv4 address and an IPv6 address range. As an option, you can rent additional IPv4 addresses for your dedicated server (up to 256 per machine).
To guarantee maximum security for your infrastructures, an anti-DDoS system is included with all OVHcloud dedicated servers. It ensures service continuity for your applications, in the event of an attack.

500GB of backup space
Each dedicated server comes with a 500GB storage space, dedicated to backups. This space is completely separate from the server, and is designed for you to store your data and configuration files. The storage capacity can be increased, if needed.

Your questions answered
💰 What do the setup fees consist of?
The setup fees cover the cost of assembling and connecting your server in our datacentres. The initial fees are only billed once, when the service is set up. This means they are not linked to your commitment period.
The setup fees for your dedicated server are included for any commitment periods of 12 months or longer.
🛂 What is burst bandwidth?
The burst option provides you with increased bandwidth. This feature is included, and enabled by default for compatible servers in the Infrastructure range.
Please note that the burst option is disabled automatically when you use more than 50% of your included bandwidth (see next question).
🧮 How is my allocated burst period calculated?
OVHcloud offers 1.5 days of excess usage per month (5%). During this period, you get your burst without any limits.
If you exceed the allocated throughput consistently, your burst will be disabled, and you will have access to your default bandwidth again.
🗑 Can I disable the burst, and what will happen if I do?
You can disable the burst via the API. Your bandwidth will then switch back to its regular throughput.
📈 What uses are there for the burst option?
The burst bandwidth option is perfect for absorbing temporary traffic spikes, like:
- increased traffic from marketing actions (TV advertising, email campaigns, marketing buzz, etc.)
- higher throughput requirements for software updates

🦾 What are the advantages of the vRack private network?
The vRack is a physical private network that is isolated from the internet. This means you can create your own cluster, or connect your server to an existing infrastructure. And you can do all of this at no extra cost.
Through the vRack private network, you can secure the exchanges between your web server and your database. To do this, you must disable the public IP address of the dedicated server you want to protect.
Creating cloud computing servers
What is a cloud computing server?
The term ‘cloud computing’ is used to describe the usage of physical servers, like the ones that make up the Infrastructure range. They are generally divided into virtual private servers, then configured onto a network to offer a variety of resources such as applications, storage spaces and other computing environments. Technologies like VMware and OpenStack can be used to set up cloud-computing infrastructures. By doing this, you can set a range of services such as IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service), SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) and PaaS (Platform-as-a-service).
