OVHcloud provides three shared hosting options: Personal, Professional, and Performance. While none are explicitly labelled as "unlimited," the Performance plan comes closest, offering 500 GB of SSD storage and unmetered bandwidth. This ample storage and unrestricted data transfer make it an excellent choice for resource-intensive websites or those expecting high traffic volumes. Unlimited hosting refers to a hosting plan that allows you to host an unlimited number of domain names under a single account. This is ideal for individuals or businesses managing multiple websites. OVHcloud does not currently offer unlimited hosting on our shared plans, but their higher-tier options, like VPS and dedicated servers, may provide more flexibility in this regard.

Unlimited bandwidth in web hosting means no restrictions on the amount of data transferred between your website and visitors. OVHcloud's Performance shared hosting plan includes limitless bandwidth, allowing your website to handle heavy traffic and large file downloads without incurring additional charges or experiencing performance issues due to bandwidth limitations.

In a web hosting account, the primary domain is the main name associated with your hosting package. It's the address that visitors typically use to access your website.
Think of it as the "street address" of your online home. While you can host multiple websites or domains under one account, the primary domain is the default one linked to the root directory of your hosting space. Choosing the right primary domain is essential, as it often represents your main online identity and is used for administrative tasks like accessing your control panel.
To change your primary domain on OVHcloud, log in to your control panel. Navigate to the "Domains" section and find an option to manage addons. From there, you can select a different domain and designate it as the primary for your hosting account.

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), now technically known as TLS (Transport Layer Security), is a cryptographic protocol that establishes a secure connection between a website and its visitor's web browser. This secure connection ensures that all data transmitted between the website and the browser remains private and integral.
An SSL certificate is a digital certificate that authenticates a website's identity and enables an encrypted connection. It's like a digital passport that verifies the website's legitimacy and allows for a secure exchange of information. Websites with SSL certificates display a padlock icon in the address bar and typically start with "https://" instead of "http://".
OVHcloud includes a free SSL certificate with all of its shared hosting plans, including the Performance option. To activate and install your SSL certificate, log in to your panel control and navigate to the "SSL/TLS Status" section. Follow the prompts to enable the certificate for your website.
