Harness the power of AMD processors in a virtualised environment with allocated resources. Our AMD VPS solutions are optimised for parallel workloads, and guarantee low latency thanks to deployment in Local Zones.

Our AMD VPS solutions in detail
Our AMD VPS solutions are deployed in Local Zones to offer you maximum proximity to your users. Combining AMD EPYC architecture with OVHcloud infrastructure, they are an ideal solution for any web, application or distributed projects that require both high performance and responsiveness.
The key advantages of AMD VPSs in a Local Zone
Low latency and proximity
Data localisation
Global coverage
Power at the right price
Why go for a VPS?
AMD VPSs are based on the latest generation of EPYC processors, known for their high core density and energy efficiency. They are designed for parallel workloads, distributed processing, and demanding environments such as databases or development infrastructures.
Hosting them in Local Zones can address geographical proximity, data sovereignty and network performance challenges with a one-click increase in power.
- Powerful and efficient AMD EPYC processors.
- Strategic deployment in Local Zones.
- Fast and stable NVMe storage.
- Compatibility with Linux distributions.
Use cases for AMD VPS
AMD VPS servers in Local Zones combine multi-core power, low latency and geographical proximity. They are perfect for resource-intensive usage, such as localised web hosting, distributed databases, collaborative development environments, CI/CD pipelines, and online game servers.
Optimised resources at the best price
Get ample resources without breaking the bank. Our VPS solutions, equipped with next-generation architectures and NVMe storage, guarantee speed and reliability.
An isolated, scalable environment
Host your projects in an isolated, flexible environment, and upgrade your configuration in one click via your Control Panel.
Simplicity and total control
Gain full control over your VPS via root access and the OVHcloud API. Choose and install your preferred distribution, then use tools like Plesk or cPanel to manage your services.

Your questions answered
What is a VPS and how does it work?
A VPS (Virtual Private Server) is an isolated virtual server, created on a physical machine using a hypervisor such as KVM. As a Cloud VPS solution, it gives you access to allocated resources (vCPU, RAM, NVMe SSD storage, bandwidth) and a full administrator account. You can install your own operating system and applications on it, just as you would on an independent physical server.
What is an AMD VPS?
An AMD VPS is built on next-generation AMD EPYC processors, combining multicore performance, VPS SSD storage and a virtualised cloud infrastructure. It offers an excellent price/performance ratio, with reduced latency thanks to its deployment in Local Zones. In some cases, it can rival an AMD dedicated server when it comes to specific loads.
How do I migrate my current VPS to an AMD VPS?
To switch to an AMD VPS from another OVHcloud VPS solution:
- Back up your data via snapshot or automatic backup
- Order an AMD VPS via the OVHcloud Control Panel
- Restore your data on the new VPS server
- Update your DNS configuration if necessary
What are the advantages of a VPS with an AMD Ryzen processor or an EPYC processor?
OVHcloud AMD VPSs only use AMD EPYC processors. This architecture is designed to maximise multi-core performance while reducing power consumption.
Multi-core performance: ideal for parallel processing, containers and databases.
Energy efficiency: best performance/watt.
NVMe storage: optimised I/O for instant response times.
The Ryzen range is reserved for our AMD dedicated servers.
Which should I choose: AMD VPS or Intel VPS?
Intel VPSs are available in all of our datacentres and cover all configurations (VPS-1 to VPS-6). They also have access to all features and images.
AMD EPYC VPSs are currently only available in VPS-1 configuration in our Local Zones. They offer low latency and optimised localisation, but with some limitations (reduced images and features).
Which operating systems are compatible with an AMD VPS?
AMD VPSs in Local Zones support the main distributions for Linux VPSs (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, AlmaLinux, etc.). Windows and applications (Docker, Plesk, cPanel etc.) are not yet available on this range.
Is an AMD VPS suitable for hosting a game server?
Yes. With its multi-core performance, NVMe SSD storage and high bandwidth, an AMD VPS ensures a smooth gaming experience and minimal latency for gamers.
How much does a VPS cost?
The price of an AMD VPS depends on the configuration you have chosen, and the location you have selected. To see the available options and compare technical specifications, visit our VPS range page.
Where are the AMD VPSs hosted?
Our AMD VPSs are currently deployed in more than 15 Local Zones around the world, including Amsterdam, Madrid, Milan, Prague, Toronto, and Warsaw. These locations allow you to choose a region that is close to your users to reduce latency and respect data sovereignty requirements.
