Your questions answered
What is OpenSearch?
OpenSearch is a secure search and analytics suite. It offers a distributed storage engine, a content indexing and search engine, and an analytics engine. This tool is quick and easy to deploy and use, and is particularly well-suited to structured real-time data mining contexts.
What is OVHcloud Managed OpenSearch?
What is the difference between the Essential, Business and Enterprise service options?
They each represent a different service level on the Public Cloud. Each option includes various features that suit different applications, including the cluster size, number of nodes, network, scalability, or high availability.
Is the data stored in Managed OpenSearch shared with third parties?
No. You retain full control over your data, as your service runs on one or more Public Cloud instances, each with its own storage space.
Is Managed OpenSearch integrated into the Public Cloud?
It can be used as a resource, or as part of a Public Cloud project, and you can manage it from your Control Panel.
Can I connect Managed OpenSearch to my Bare Metal server?
Yes, you can do this via a public or private network. However, if you’d like to deploy OpenSearch software on your Bare Metal server, you’ll need to do it yourself, and then take care of the management and administration of your database.
What is the difference between 1-AZ and 3-AZ regions?
Discover deployment resilience in our dedicated guide.
1-AZ regions use a single availability zone with one or more datacentres. While they offer protection against server and driver failures, they can be vulnerable to datacentre failures, which in turn can cause access issues.
In comparison, 3-AZ regions provide true fault isolation with 3 independent availability zones, each with isolated power, cooling, and network. This architecture means that services remain available even in the event of an entire zone failure.
Get peace of mind with 99.99% SLAs.
Can I migrate my 1-AZ workloads to a 3-AZ?
Yes! It is certainly possible to migrate from a 1-AZ region to a 3-AZ region.
You can connect 1-AZ regions to 3-AZ regions via private connectivity to optimise the complexity and cost of your infrastructure deployments.
